SAMTEQ - the company and team

SAMTEQ is a fast-growing web and web-based solutions company based in Dunoon, Scotland. Since we were set up in 2009, we’ve built user-friendly websites and web-based products for over 120 companies across the UK and Europe.

So, yes we do websites (very good ones at that) and e-commerce websites, but we do more too. We take web-based technology and apply it to all sorts of settings. Our smart applications, for example, streamline tasks in the work place, making businesses more efficient and effective. And our interactive touch-screen kiosks, Touch Genius, bring information to life in a fun, interactive way. You’ll see them popping up in visitor attractions and venues across the UK.

We see the power, flexibility and scalability that web technology offers and we’re continually innovating new ways of working with it.

But there’s one driving force behind everything we do: simplicity. We take complicated technology and make it easy for the user – a bit like the iPhone. And that’s quite a skill. All our websites and web-based products can be operated by anyone, whatever their technical knowledge.

Samuel Coley

Bright, determined and creative, Sam is the business brains behind SAMTEQ. He set up the company at the tender age of 16 and built it into the world-class IT business you see today. He heads up the web development and web design. He’s technically skilled and passionate about functional, user-friendly design. With a finger on the pulse, he drives new product development. There’s also not much he doesn’t know about search engines.

Ken Coley

Ken has helped grow SAMTEQ for the last two years. He brings years’ of experience with him. He started in the internet world way back in 1995 when he worked for Planet Online. He then went onto work with Freeserve, which revolutionised the way we connect to the internet. Ken has worked extensively with major companies, including SKY TV and lastminute.com, and he’s driven by a desire to bring the standards of web-based technology he experienced at this level to smaller businesses through SAMTEQ. Ken heads up customer support.

Ross Williamson

Ross is the technical genius. He’s a talented IT expert with over 15 years’ experience working as a system architect, designer, team lead and support analyst for some major international corporates including Marks and Spencer, UCB and Zurich. He’s also got a lot of letters after his name, boasting Microsoft, Citrix and VMware IT credentials including MCP, CCA, CCEA and VCP. Ross manages the SAMTEQ IT infrastructure, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that your website or web-based product is in very safe hands.

Eve MacFarlane

Eve’s our word geek. She has over thirteen years’ experience of writing, editing and working in communications, and knows what makes a brand tick. She was Communications Manager at the University of Bristol. Writing, rewriting, sharpening and optimising content for websites and blogs is one of her specialist areas. She can help you get the most out of your website by providing succinct, unique text that’s optimised for search engines without compromising on quality. And of course, it’ll be written in clear, stylish English that’s pitched at your audience with no nasty typos letting the side down.
